Managed by the El Libro Foundation, the event runs at the La Rural Exhibition Center until May 13, with the city of Lisbon as the guest of honor.

Before opening the fair to the public, the professional days were held this week, with workshops, debates, and meetings about the publishing industry.

The event brought together publishers, booksellers, distributors, agents, graphic designers, translators, illustrators, and librarians for commercial exchanges, businesses, and updating seminars.

According to a press release from the Foundation, the fair expects to become “a book city”, with more than 45,000 square meters for exhibition.

The event stands out for its wide-ranging program which includes some 1,500 cultural proposals: keynote speeches, launching, courses, lectures, book signings, a poetry festival, a meeting for storytellers, and a day of microfiction, among other items, the text added.
