Cuba has been developing a broad work in disaster risk reduction management and in aspects related to cooperation with other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the rest of the world, Macareño told Prensa Latina.
The head of the Cuban delegation to that major event stressed that it is a way to reaffirm the country’s political will.
As President Miguel Díaz-Canel assured in his message to the participants of the event, Cuba maintains its willingness to work together with the nations of the Coalition for a Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), he ratified.
On the other hand, he confirmed that at a meeting with CDRI General Director Amit Prothi, possibilities were seen to boost cooperation between Cuba and the international association in projects for young researchers, mainly.
He considered it important that the lessons learned from all the countries that make up the coalition will be generalized.
This is an opportunity to learn from them and to share our experiences gained over the years and the consolidation of a Civil Defense System, Macareño said.
