Although the government of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinian limited its participation in the CSTO, the main mechanisms of interaction work, and work on the organization’s agenda continues, Tasmagambetov pointed out in an interview for the Izvestia newspaper.
All CSTO obligations towards Armenia remain in place, and the organization continues to fully comply with its statutory objectives and principles, the Secretary General stated.
The CSTO is a political-military organization comprised by several countries in Europe and Central Asia, established on October 7th, 2002, bringing together nations that once formed part of the Soviet Union. Its current members are Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
