Russian Communists tribute honor to Lenin

Moscow, Apr 22 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Federation Communist Party members, led by its leader Guennadi Zyuganov, laid flowers at Lenin's Mausoleum in Moscow's Red Square this Monday on his 154th birthday.

In the customary tribute paid by the militants every year, the importance of Vladimir Ilich Lenin’s figure for the history of Russia and all leftist forces globally was recalled.

This time, the Communists appealed to the Council of the Russian Federation (the Upper House of Parliament) with a proposal to adopt the law on Lenin’s “subbotnik.”

Sergey Malinkovich, one of the leaders of the Communist Party, said that the importance of passing the law is that the older generations call Leninists the subbotniks (or volunteer works), and young people do not understand this revolutionary tradition.

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov was born on April 22, 1870, into a family of Russian intellectuals in Simbirsk.

Lenin was a world revolutionary man, the principal leader of the October Revolution, and the first leader of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the first state of workers and peasants.

He was the author of a theoretical and practical body based on Marxism known as Leninism, later called Marxism-Leninism.
