At least since last Saturday, it has rained heavily in several areas, including the capital, and it rained with force on early Sunday, something that was accentuated in the evening with storms and lightning.
Several avenues and streets in the capital, including those near the Monument to the Divine Savior of the World, were flooded after ongoing rainfall with a maximum of 40 millimeters in El Piro creek in just one hour, affecting most of the metropolitan area of San Salvador.
The report from the Ministry of Environment stated that rains and storms also occurred last night in the central and northeastern areas, north of La Unión, San Miguel, around the Cerrón Grande reservoir and the coast of La Libertad.
