According to the head of Foreign Ministry, Shoukry’s remarks came at a meeting in this capital with Francesca Albanese, United Nations Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
Shoukry warned that “Israel’s continued brutal war on Gaza threatens to exacerbate the humanitarian crisis in the Strip and spread violence beyond the occupied territories.
He regretted that several countries have so far refrained from describing the country’s practices as a flagrant violation of international law.
The foreign minister reiterated his call to the neighboring nation to stop its efforts to displace Palestinians and its collective punishment policy.
Albanese, in turn, condemned Israel’s refusal to allow her to visit the coastal territory, where more than 34,000 deaths have been reported since October 7, 2023.
