Operation to bring Cubans stranded in Haiti home continues

Havana, Apr 21 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Foreign Ministry on Sunday announced the continuation of the operation to bring the compatriots stranded in Haiti home, due to the complex situation of violence there.

According to the Foreign Ministry’s X profile, the fourth group of Cubans is already at the “Hugo Chávez” Airport in Cape Haitian and they are getting ready to board the flight to Cuba.

The source pointed out that it will provide information on the development of this return operation until its completion.

So far, 145 of the more than 250 nationals stranded in Haiti are already in Cuba.

The first phase of the transfer was carried out in several buses from Port-au-Prince to Cap Haitien, in northern Haiti, in a procedure that, according to Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, required a careful and continuous analysis of the right moment to organize it.
