The Palestinian Presidency issued a statement affirming that Washington’s position is unfair, immoral and unjustified and defies the will of the international community. It also stressed that the US policy towards Palestine and its people represents a flagrant aggression against international law and encourages the continuation of the Israeli war of genocide against the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

The statement warned that the United States “pushes the region further to the brink, in light of the continued Israeli occupation,” and accused Israel of carrying out war crimes under the umbrella and support of the United States.

The new veto reveals the contradictions of the US policy, which aims to support the two-state solution, while preventing the UN from implementing the strategy, highlighted the Presidency, who warned that peace, security, and stability in the Middle East depend on the implementation of international resolutions on Palestine.

The Presidency defended the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and thanked the Member States that voted in favor of the project.
