The symposium was attended by leading figures and members of progressive parties, organizations of friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and Juche study institutions from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland and Finland, the state-run KCNA news agency reported.
Participants expressed their deep devotion to leader Kim Il Sung, who made a great contribution to the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Juche and the cause of world independence.
Juha Kieksy, international secretary of the Finnish Communist League, said that Kim Il Sung indicated the road to sovereignty and independence and socialist development with the Juche idea.
He praised the heroic deeds of the man who led the country to victory in the anti-Japan war under the banner of winning independence with its own forces, and accomplished the historic cause of founding the party, the country and the army after the liberation of Korea.
Christer Lundgren, president of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, said that the Korean leader prepared a powerful weapon for the people of struggling countries by publishing many works that illuminated the path of anti-imperialist struggle and wisely led the Non-Aligned Movement.
Dag Norum, chairman of the Ostfold Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Norway, praised the ideological and theoretical feat of the North Korean hero and recalled that although Korea was brutally destroyed by the war imposed by US imperialists in the 1950s, it was reborn from the ruins under the autochthonous guidance of Kim Il Sung.
Anders Kristensen, honorary president of the Denmark-DPRK Friendship Association, explained Kim Il Sung’s deeds for the liberation of Korea and the founding of the State.
