The Foreign Ministry informed on its X profile about the beginning of the first phase of the operation for the return of Cubans living in Haiti who are traveling in a caravan of buses from Port-au-Prince to the city of Cape Haitien, in the north of the country.

This is an operation coordinated by Cuban authorities, various ministries, the Cuban Embassy in Haiti and the permanent accompaniment of officials from the Cuban diplomatic mission, the message noted.

The MINREX pointed out that the transfer is taking place safely and without any incidents, and the second phase of the operation will be implemented from the airport of Cap Haitien, with the return by air to Cuba by Sunrise airline.

The Foreign Ministry also stated that it will continue to provide information on the development of this operation until its completion.
