According to the official statement, 32 pieces of ceramics, stone arrowheads, and gold ornaments, among other articles, dated around 750 A.D., were brought back to Panama with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
A ceramic vessel dated between 1,000 and 1,200 A.D. from Gran Chiriqui was also repatriated. With those pieces, 378 have been repatriated, said Culture Minister Giselle González, who pointed out that other actions will continue to preserve history.
The minister stated that all these pieces will be exhibited shortly at the Reina Torres de Araúz Anthropological Museum once the recovery of this institution, located at Cinco de Mayo Square in Panama City, is completed.
