Along with the Cuban ninth team, ranked eighth in the WBSC world rankings, will compete the teams of Japan (first), Korea (fourth), Chinese Taipei (fifth), Dominican Republic (ninth) and Australia (11th place).
This will be the B key of the event and will be hosted by Chinese Taipei, although the first match will take place at the Vantelin Dome stadium in the Japanese city of Nagoya between the hosts and the Australian team.
Mexico will host the A section, where the teams of the United States (third in the WBSC ranking), Venezuela (sixth), the Netherlands (seventh), Panama (10th place), Puerto Rico (12th) and the hosts (second in the world ranking) will play.
