In a letter to the president of the Syrian People’s Assembly, Hamouda Sabbagh, published on the parliament’s official X account, Lazo wished prosperity and peace to the Syrian people.

In the message, Lazo reiterated the interest in further strengthening inter-parliamentary relations between the two legislative bodies, especially given the growing challenges of the current year.

The National Day of Syria is celebrated on April 17, commemorating the 1946 forced departure of French colonial troops.
