Over a thousand representatives from governments, international institutions, the United Nations system, the private sector, academia and civil society will participate in the event that opens this Monday and will run until April 18th.
Five of the 17 objectives that UN member countries committed to achieve by 2030, related to zero hunger, end to poverty, climate action, peace, justice and solid institutions and alliances to achieve the goals, will be examined during the event.
A meeting of the civil society participation mechanism and the Girls, Boys, Adolescents and Youth Forum is scheduled for this Monday.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday there will be the official inauguration, led by the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, Amina Mohammed, the Executive Secretary of ECLAC, and other high authorities, a statement from the regional organization stated.
Over four days of sessions, five dialogue tables will be held where the countries of the region and other actors will share experiences and challenges to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
