On Friday, Milei met the billionaire of South African origin Elon Musk, owner of X, and offered on that encounter Buenos Aires’ collaboration in the clash between the entrepreneur and Brazil’s Supreme Federal Court.
Milei further invited the wealthy businessman to migrate his company’s operations to Argentina. Such statements generated uneasiness in the diplomacy between the two countries.
“The internal and judicial issues of each nation are each country’s own. The Argentinian Government will not ever interfere in the democratic process or in the judicial process of any country. We trust in the Justice of each State,” Mondino clarified to the press, as she pays a brief visit to Brazil.
After a bilateral meeting with her Brazilian counterpart, Mauro Vieira, at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in that capital, the head of diplomacy of the neighboring country told reporters that “we defend freedom of expression in all senses.”
In addition to X, Musk owns the rocket company SpaceX and the electric car factory Tesla. Only the X social media is represented in Brazil.
The encounter between the tycoon and Milei took place at the Tesla factory in Austin, Texas, United States.
