Costa Rica urges families to go to centers for child vaccination

San José, Apr 13 (Prensa Latina) The Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) today urged families to go to health care centers to vaccinate their children against measles, rubella and mumps.

Since April 1st, the entity has been carrying out an extraordinary immunization campaign, with a booster dose for children older than 15 months and younger than 10 years old.

On the occasion that Monday is a holiday, the CCSS explained that some health facilities will be open on Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th, and Monday 15th of April.

As an institution, we are redoubling our efforts to reach every corner of the country with the vaccine, the institution indicated.

Prevention is key, and to control these diseases we are committed to do everything possible to protect our children, explained Elvis Delgado, Epidemiological Surveillance Officer of the CCSS.
