During these tours, carried out on the instructions of President Bashar Al-Assad, the officers inspected the combat readiness of the regulars and congratulated them on Eid Al-Fiter, the Muslim holiday of the end of the month of fasting.
In this regard, Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas met with commanders of military units in the country’s coastal region and toured several points on the front lines.
He visited an air defense unit, where he appreciated the bravery of the soldiers and the sacrifices they were offering on all fronts in defense of the homeland.
In turn, the Chief of Army and Armed Forces General Staff, Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, visited the military formations in the vast desert region of Al-Badieh, where he highlighted the audacity of the soldiers in confronting terrorism.
In an annual ritual that takes place every Eid Al-Fitr, the senior commanders visited the martyrs’ cemeteries, where they placed floral offerings on the memorials.
They were also at the military hospitals to check on the health of the soldiers receiving treatment and wished them a speedy recovery.
