The defender, Humberto Abanto, said that the prosecutor of the Nation, Juan Carlos Villena, seized the jewelry that she had worn on behalf of the alleged owner, the governor of the Andean region of Ayacucho, Wilfredo Oscorima.
According to Abanto, the prosecutor took the measure to prevent the jewels from being lost, and sources from the Public Prosecutor’s Office pointed out that they were retained because of their value for the investigation as evidence.
The lawyer of the controversial governor, who yesterday refused to talk about the watches, as Boluarte did for three weeks, declared that “The prosecutor has decided to keep the goods. The watches have been seized. We are appealing to the supreme judge because we understand that it is an outrage.”
After Abanto’s appearance, a group of followers of the former president and now imprisoned Pedro Castillo booed him and accused him of corruption for defending the president and even threw water and garbage at him, until he was able to take refuge in a restaurant.
