On the World Homeopathy Day on Wednesday, Dr. Johann Perdomo Delgado, head of the Department of Natural and Traditional Medicine at the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), reflected on the date and imprint of German physician Christian Friederick Samuel Hahnemann, the promoter of homeopathy.
Given its incidence and proven advantages for patients, homeopathy is one of the eleven modalities of Natural and Traditional Medicine regulated and widely used in Cuba, the MINSAP website reported.
The Ministry highlights the use of this therapeutic option in the prevention of leptospirosis, which has been documented in more than one article published in indexed journals.
MINSAP underscored that the Cuban scientist Concepcion Campa Huergo was responsible for introducing the complex homeopathic medicines TratHo and PrevengHo, which are in high demand by the Cuban population.
According to MINSAP’s head of the Department of Natural and Traditional Medicine, homeopathy is another tool in the hands of healthcare professionals, not only physicians or dentists, but also veterinarians.
Dr. Perdomo remarked that the results and scope of this medical practice are best demonstrated in specialized pharmacies, where patients with different diseases and various health problems go on a daily basis.
He noted that in Cuba, the use of homeopathy has benefited the specific treatment of bronchial asthma, blepharitis, nephritic colic and renal lithiasis, subprosthetic stomatitis, high blood prssure and Covid-19, among others.
