Cuban Ambassador to Mongolia Jorge Ferrer, and Mongolian Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry Gankhuleg Munguntsog discussed those issues at a meeting in Ulaanbaatar related to the agricultural challenges of both nations.
On the meeting, which was also attended by E. Anar, head of the Department of Cooperation, the two sides debated on opportunities to develop bilateral cooperation in livestock.
The Cuban ambassador referred to the breakthrough of his country’s biotechnology industry, the Cuban diplomatic mission in Mongolia noted in a press release.
The authority highlighted, among its most relevant products, vaccines for animals, as well as biofertilizers, biostimulants and biopesticides, useful for organic agriculture and environmental protection.
Ferrer further underscored the proven results of the Cuban biological rodenticide -biorat, which only acts against rodents, without affecting humans or other animals, is easy to apply and biodegradable.
He pointed out that the use of this product facilitates to reduce the costs of application programs, since it is sufficient to use it twice a year to control the pest, does not generate resistance and does not cause rejection by rodents. The diplomat also mentioned stabilak, a natural product to maintain the quality of raw and fresh milk between 8 and 30 hours and at temperatures between 20 and 34 degrees Celsius, the source explained.
