We support the friendly government of Venezuela in these elections to be held in July, under the Venezuelan Constitution, and in a way that reflects the desire and will of the friendly Venezuelan people, the Syrian Foreign Ministry expressed in a statement.
Syria rejected any external interference in this process because it would be considered interference in Venezuela’s internal affairs.
The Foreign Ministry, in turn, reiterated its support for Caracas in the face of the unilateral economic sanctions imposed by the United States Government.
These punitive measures are a continuation of the US arrogance and scope that seeks to undermine security and stability in more than one region of the world, the Ministry concluded its statement.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro stated that these elections will be the most representative event of the last 60 years because, in his opinion, they emerged from democracy and humane and free treatment as never seen in the nation.
