“Until this Tuesday, April 9, in addition to the said number of houses, 19,139 plots of land in 226 localities are flooded on the territory of 37 regions of the Russian Federation,” the Ministry wrote on its Telegram profile.
According to the report, 160 low bridges and more than 130 sections of highways are also flooded.
Several Russian regions are experiencing unfavorable conditions due to flooding. The most complex situation is in the Orenburg region due to the burst of a dam in Orsk, the region’s second-largest city, on the evening of April 5.
According to the latest data, about 10,400 houses and nearly 18,500 plots of land are flooded in this city alone, while more than 6,100 people have been evacuated.
The region was declared a federal emergency, and the flood is expected to peak in Orenburg on April 10.
Russia’s Western Siberian city of Tyumen and several towns in the Kurgan region are also declared in a state of emergency due to the risk of flooding.
