The SNAI noted in a statement that Glas has been under medical observation over the past few hours and according to the evaluations made by the staff of the Naval Hospital in Guayaquil, he presents acceptable health parameters within the range of normality.
The institution pointed out that the former vice president will return to La Roca prison in strict compliance with security protocols, the document referred.
SNAI’s announcement came a few hours after the Citizen Revolution (RC) Movement and Glas’s defense demanded information on the former official’s health.
Earlier, RC Leader Luisa Gonzalez charged on Teleamazonas channel that neither Glas’s children nor his lawyers had been allowed to enter the health center where he is being held. It is a violation of their human rights, she reiterated.
Likewise, the former vice president’s attorney, Sonia Vera, warned on her X account that Glas still remain incommunicado after a critical ‘overdose’ and was deprived of contacts with his family and defenders.
