Following talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, Lavrov added that the two sides are focused on high-level contacts because Putin’s diplomacy is a core element of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Regarding the aforementioned, the Chinese Foreign Minister highlighted the foundations that govern relations between the two countries and recalled that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties.

The Minister also advocated continued adherence to the principle of “non-alignment, non-confrontation and non-attack on third parties”, and urged to seek mutually beneficial results in cooperation and promote a multipolar world in an egalitarian and orderly manner.

Wang Yi emphasized that Russia and China must resist the Cold War mentality, hegemonism, and international interference.
