It is my obligation to comply with the rulings of justice and I cannot allow that sentenced criminals, deeply involved in serious crimes, be held in violation of Article III of the Caracas Convention, Article I of the Montevideo Convention and Article 41 of the Vienna Convention, or run the imminent risk of their escape, as has happened to us before, said the president.
After several days of silence and after what happened in the Mexican embassy here, Noboa made an official statement and claimed that “Ecuador is a country of peace, that respects all nations and international law”.
Noboa hinted that political groups have put their interests above sovereignty, dignity and justice, in relation to the position of the Citizen Revolution Movement (RC), which condemned the decisions of the transitional Executive.
According to Noboa, criticism comes from the fact that the majority of Ecuadorians will vote for national dignity in the popular consultation on April 21, he said.
In the document, Noboa said he was willing to solve any differences with Mexico, but insisted that justice is not negotiable, and “would never protect criminals who have harmed Mexicans,” he said.
