Via videoconference, deputies praised how much progress can be made in such sensitive and vital program, with a glance at the parliamentary activity in all municipalities.
ANPP´s Agro-alimentary Commission Chairman Ramón Aguilar made reference to the deficiencies during 2023 in the contracting of agricultural production and to the control mechanisms on the legality of land tenure.
Regarding functions and responsibility of local Boards of Directors in regulating and setting prices, Aguilar reflected on the implementation of the recently approved decree law to coordinate and dynamize the management of agricultural cooperatives.
The Cuban Deputy Economy and Planning (MEP) Minister Roberto Pérez, on the other hand, highlighted the existence of three indispensable tools for food production that have an impact on the evaluation and creation of local balances in this regard. These are the municipal development strategies, Law 148 on Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security, and the Economy Plan approved in all territories and territorial governments, the official exemplified.
Likewise, ANPP’s Economic Affairs Committee Chairman, Félix Martínez, emphasized these issues are in line with the 2030 National Development Plan and are priority within the process of implementing Government’s measures to correct distortions and boost domestic economy in 2024.
