Al-Khalili denounced in a statement that women in Gaza “are suffering the most dangerous and harsh conditions in decades” as a result of the deteriorating situation there, displacement and lack of housing, food and water due to the ongoing aggression.
On Sunday, six months after the onset of the Israeli war campaign, in response to a Hamas attack, Al-Khalili pointed out that since then 9,560 women have been slaughtered in Gaza.
Currently, some 15,000 pregnant women live in Gaza Strip in terrible conditions, 95% of whom are not adequately fed, which skyrockets the risks to the mother’s and fetus’ health, the minister stressed.
The official revealed that one million of them were forcibly displaced, and warned of the hazards they face in shelter centers, which lack basic necessities and privacy.
On average, 37 mothers are murdered every day in Gaza by Israeli forces, she noted.
Al-Khalili criticized restrictions on movement and the destruction of infrastructure, including hospitals and homes, which, hinders access to vital health and social services. The minister unfolded that in the last six months, the neighboring country’s military displaced 1,620 families in the West Bank, including 710 minors, due to the policy of demolishing Palestinian structures.
