That is the case of the Cuban researcher and professor who uploaded on his Facebook account on Sunday lately reports that argue that opinion.
He pointed out that the Royal Caribbean shipping company is scheduled to present four mega cruise ships from 2024 to 2028, a third of its total fleet with departures from the Caribbean, aligned with its initiative to showcase gigantic cruise ships in recent years as was the case with the Wonder of the Seas and the Icon of the Seas.
Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley repeatedly described the Icon of the Seas as the best-selling Product in the company’s history.
When it was opened at the end of January, the gigantic 365-meter-long, 248,663-ton cruise ship unseated its predecessor, the two-meter-smaller Wonder of the Seas, as the world’s largest ship.
Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean Group CEO Jason Liberty highlighted that 2023 was the year where the company achieved the strongest position in its history and for 2024, the expert foresees no signs of slowing down because they have more bookings with significantly higher fares and higher spending on board.
Liberty indicated that bookings soared to double 2019 and there should be no slowdown concerns at this time.
Perello stated that 70% of cruisers book at least one of their onboard activities prior to their cruise and end up spending two and a half times more than those who do not book. In addition, the company records 40 % more pre-cruise purchases booked by 2024 compared to the previous year.
