According to the Nation and Emigration report on X, the meeting is a new opportunity to share viewpoints with talented young people, descendants of Cuban residents abroad.
The 9th Meeting was held at the Fidel Castro Center in November 2022, after a long period without the usual gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
That meeting was held within the framework of the 6th anniversary of the death of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who founded and promoted the Dialogue of ’78, which set the foundation for developing a coherent and respectful relationship between Cuba and its nationals abroad.
The DACCRE scholarship program began in 2005 and resulted from the 3rd Nation and Emigration Conference as a genuine expression of strengthening relations with Cuban residents abroad, as the Cuban Foreign Ministry states on its website.
The program has benefited more than 100 students, descendants of Cuban residents in more than 50 countries.
