“Our positions are half a kilometer from Chasov Yar. Sometimes that distance increases, but in principle it is so. Let’s just say that we are already on the periphery (of the town),” the official declared this Friday on his Telegram channel.

The advisor noted that the Ukrainian troops, after the Russian Armed Forces took Artyomovsk (also known as Bakhmut for the Ukrainians), “have had almost a year to prepare” and are “well entrenched.”

“We understand that they have engineering fortifications and minefields there,” he added.
