According to Ahora newspaper’s Facebook profile, specialized units of the Fire Department extinguished the fire that threatened to spread to nearby houses.

Users of this digital publication stated that no deaths or significant material damage were reported.

The causes of the disaster have not been reported so far.

Experts said forest fires are frequent in Cuba during the dry season, from January to May.
