At a meeting with the media, Atamaint detailed they opted for such a modality after the telematic vote had technical problems on two previous occasions.

Atamaint indicated that 610 packages with ballots and other documents are already on their way to guarantee the suffrage of the 429,165 Ecuadorians registered abroad.

Those who did not change their dwelling before January 9 or emigrated after that date, will not be able to vote.

Although voting is optional for those residing outside the national territory, for those registered in the country it is mandatory and if they do not attend they may be fined.
