In a letter sent to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, the Prime Minister considers that Netanyahu’s plan aims to suppress the legitimate national aspirations of Palestinians in Gaza and perpetuate Israeli control over the land.
“It is disappointing because it does not provide any tangible path to the end of the current crisis in addition to being a violation of international law and agreements,” said the dignitary, who reiterated her firm rejection of Israel’s plans to control any part of Gaza and against the expulsion of the population from the territory.
The Prime Minister called for the immediate implementation of a credible process to solve the current crisis based on the resolutions of the UN Security Council and the order of the International Court of Justice.
Hasina considered that military means are not a solution to the conflict and that the end of the crisis will only come with the creation of two States with common borders and peaceful coexistence, she noted.
The head of state regretted the loss of innocent lives, mostly women and children, in the genocide committed by the Zionist government in the occupied territories, conveyed her condolences to Abbas, expressed her support for a long-term ceasefire, and advocated exercising restraint to protect civilian lives and infrastructure. “We extend our full solidarity with the people of Palestine on international platforms, condemning the Israeli occupation and demanding a just resolution based on international law,” she emphasized.
