Health Minister Hassan al-Ghabbash told reporters that in addition to the dead, 13 people were injured, most of whom are in serious conditions and under treatment.
Al-Ghabbash pointed out that immediately after the attack, the emergency medical services mobilized five ambulances and several health teams to provide life-saving services at the site of the attack.
Earlier, Syrian authorities confirmed that seven military advisers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, including two generals, were killed in the Israeli bombing.
Syria’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations, Ambassador Qusay Al-Dahhak, said on Wednesday that the Iranian Consulate is in a densely populated area and is just some meters away from the headquarters of foreign diplomatic missions and international organizations, including the World Food Program, a private hospital, faculties of Damascus University, and several banks and private companies.
Iran has sent militias and military advisers to Damascus at the request of the Syrian Government to help in the fight against terrorist organizations.
