The specialists have maintained for years a close collaboration with CIPI -attached to the Foreign Ministry (MINREX), the statement read.
Representing them, Leandro Morgenfeld, co-coordinator of the Working Group on U.S. Studies of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO), stressed he was honored since the CIPI is a pivotal reference in Latin American Social Sciences.
CLACSO Director Pablo Vommaro, on the other hand, stated that the Associate Researcher status is considered as a commitment and honor.
He also considered CIPI’s achievement the annual celebration of the Strategic Studies Conference, which has been gaining prestige and convening capacity to strengthen alternative voices for international relations field.
Vommaro stressed that he celebrates this appointment by calling for once again the immediate end of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for over 60 years.
From the University of the West Indies, Jacqueline Laguardia, co-coordinator of the Working Group “Crisis, Responses and Alternatives in the Greater Caribbean”, stated there are many who look forward every year to discussing strategic foresight and regional scenarios at CIPI, and that being a Research Associate is a stimulus.
