Kasper Libeert, national secretary of Cubanismo.be, told Prensa Latina that the aim is to send a container of medical supplies to Cuba in November, which would follow the one sent in early January, corresponding to the collection of funds carried out on Easter celebrations last year.
In the last few years, the chocolate eggs have become a way to bring Belgians closer and make them aware of the harsh reality Cuba has to face due to the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States for more than six decades.
According to Libeert, the campaign “Help Cuba to help” collected 7,000 euros in March, to which the money collected through other initiatives will be added.
Cubanismo.be participates in several projects, including “Let Cuba Live,” promoted by the Peoples Dispatch platform, to support Cuba facing the US blockade.
