Some 1,500 athletes between 14 and 20 years old from seven countries in the region will compete in 27 disciplines from April 4th to 14th in the capital of Bolivia.
The participating delegations come from Venezuela, Panama, Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia, Peru and Colombia.
Karen Palenque, Vice Minister of Sports, said that the Bolivian athletes will participate in athletics, swimming, wrestling, weight lifting, taekwondo, road cycling, indoor soccer, volleyball, basketball; baseball, judo; karate, Basque pelota, racquetball, squash, boxing, fencing, gymnastics, badminton, BMX cycling, tennis, table tennis, archery, triathlon, beach volleyball, and MTB cycling.
Bolivian sports authorities predict that the Bolivian representation will manage to obtain fifth place in the medal table.
The general director of the Games Organizing Committee, Mario Quinteros, and the general manager of the Bolivia TV state channel, Julio Valdivia, signed an agreement to broadcast the inauguration and the competitions.
