Diplomatic sources told the Al-Watan newspaper that the Zionist offensive damaged the residence of the Iranian ambassador, who was unharmed along with all the diplomats.

Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Mekdad arrived at the scene of the attack in a gesture of solidarity with the Iranian diplomats.

Two loud blasts resulting from Israel’s aggression were heard across the capital, as anti-aircraft defenses were activated to intercept the shells.

The offensive comes 24 hours after a missile attack on positions around Damascus, in which two civilians were injured.

On Friday, another similar aggression occurred in the northern province of Aleppo, where at least 40 soldiers and civilians had been slaughtered and dozens wounded.

The Foreign Ministry urged the United Nations Security Council to comply with its responsibilities andan end to those attacks.
