In a statement, the Foreign Ministry refers to the ICJ’s March 28 order based on the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The ICJ found that “the catastrophic living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have continued to deteriorate, particularly ahead of lengthy and widespread deprivation of food and other basic needs,” the text says.
It points out that Gaza is no longer just at risk of famine but starvation, with at least 31 people, including 27 children, are dying of malnutrition and dehydration, according to a recent report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
