“This Sunday marks the end of March, and so far this month, Moscow received only 9,5 millimeters of rainfall.
This allows us to state that March 2024 has been the driest so far this century in the capital and one of the ten with the largest rain deficit since 1879,” Pozdniakova posted on her Telegram account.
Moscow province, too, she said, has suffered from the shortage of rainfalls: its volume has reached just 45% of the usual average.
“Such dry weather is due to the high-pressure zones that have marked the weather in Moscow and the region throughout this month,” the expert explained.
