The day before, the rebels surprised the inhabitants of the neighborhood of Ndimokoto, in the village of Ndimo on the national road number 4 of the territory of Irumu with an intense fire, in which eight people were killed.

The ADF attacks in Walese Vonkutu chiefdom have increased in recent times, leaving at least 16 fatalities in the space of three days.
Also in the territory of Beni, North Kivu province, the violence of these rebels is increasing and, according to local civil society leaders, the insurgent group is responsible for more than 80 murders and 60 kidnappings since October 2023.
