Peruvian Prime Minister denies presidential resignation after raid

Lima, Mar 30 (Prensa Latina) Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén today ruled out the resignation of President Dina Boluarte after the raid on her house and the raid on the Government Palace by prosecutors and police investigating her.

In a message through X media, Adrianzén said that the president remains in the residence of the presidential palace, and described as disproportionate and unconstitutional the action of the agents of the anti-corruption justice.

He reiterated that the Head of State will testify before the prosecutors when summoned, although she failed to comply with two prior subpoenas, and refused to receive the prosecutors, for which reason she was declared in default of appearance at court by the National Prosecutor, Juan Carlos Villena.

Adrianzen considered it strange that the Prosecutor’s Office denied her a second postponement, after Villena instructed the prosecutors in charge of the case to urgently take the necessary measures to carry out the proceedings frustrated by the president.

The objective is to interrogate Boluarte and to examine at least three luxury Rolex watches for whose possession she is being investigated for illicit enrichment and for not having included them in her mandatory declaration of income and assets.

He also called upon the political and social forces to “watch over the constitutional order” and assured that the president and the ministers are determined to remain in office for the economic reactivation and national security as priorities.
