After the disclosure of a letter in which the Minister of Cultures, Arts, and Knowledge of Colombia, Juan David Correa, asks the troubadour to return to the South American nation and offer a concert, the name of the singer-songwriter even became a trending topic in X here.
“Millions of Colombians grew up with your songs, as you have been able to witness through your visits to our country. Today I would like to ask you, in a personal, citizen, and institutional capacity, and on behalf of the President, to accompany us once again, to allow us to hear your voice in a concert that we can organize wherever you consider it (…)”, the letter dated March 1 reads.
The Minister said that his country is experiencing an unprecedented change in history led by President Gustavo Petro, whose proposals are inclusive and democratic.
“Part of my task, now as a minister, admired Silvio, is to propose collective spaces that signify our traditional experiences and allow us, through symbols, to believe that it is possible to defeat fear and purity and embrace the hope of a society that can overcome the idea of revenge,” Correa argued.
