Germany to deliver new shipment of weapons to Ukraine

Berlin, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Germany announced on Thursday a new delivery to Ukraine of ammunition for different types of armaments, armored vehicles and others, while it plans to expand its arsenal with U.S. Patriot anti-missile systems, according to the capital's television.

Berlin will send 18,000 155-millimeter artillery shells, Leopard 2A6 tanks, 14 all-terrain vehicles, 14 Vector spy drones, 30 RQ-35 Heidrun unmanned reconnaissance devices and five anti-drone defense systems.

In addition, the German Government will deliver to Kiev 180 RF 360 drone detection systems, over 2,000 RGW 90 Matador anti-tank weapons, 70 GMW anti-tank grenade launchers and 40,000 40-millimeter shells, among others.

Local outlets highlight Germany’s insistence on rearming Ukraine, despite Russia’s warnings that it will only contribute to making the conflict even more protracted.

On February 24, 2022, President Vladimir Putin ordered a war operation to protect the uprising region of Donbass, as well as to demilitarize and denazify Ukraine, which since then Kiev has already received over USD$ 156 billion in war supplies.

The arms list further includes six Wisent 1 armored vehicles, two Biber folding bridges, nine minesweepers, a tank tug, Satcom surveillance systems, 330 night vision instruments and three patrol machines, among other items.

Germany is now in second place among the Western powers involved in the rearmament of Kiev, for which it has already spent over €20 billion, according to local television.
