Chen Binhua, a spokesman for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, expressed that some people in the United States have bad intentions to create tension to benefit Washington’s military-industrial complex.
“If the United States government wants to maintain peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, it should stop causing unrest and take concrete steps to uphold the one-China principle,” the spokesman stressed.
According to Chen, Taiwan’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities are acting for their benefit, “serving as pawns of external forces,” carrying out pro-independence provocations, and “striving to please the United States.”
The spokesman recalled that Taiwan is a part of China and stressed that the complete reunification of the country is a desire by all Chinese people.
“How and when the Taiwan issue will be solved is a China’s purely internal matter and does not allow outside interference,” he noted.
