The Amadeo Roldan Conservatory Symphony Orchestra will perform at the UNEAC garden in the Havana neighborhood of Vedado this afternoon. According to UNEAC, the repertoire planned for the tribute includes themes from relevant Cuban films from different eras.
The ICAIC, one of the first cultural institutions established by the emerging Cuban Revolution to bring culture and the arts to the people, was founded on March 24, 1959.
Entitled “Fest of Cuban Cinema,” the day of remembrance of the date includes several activities, some of which are tributes to ICAIC by many cultural organizations and agencies, in addition to film screenings, premieres, and conversations with its founders and winners of national film awards.
ICAIC President Alexis Triana informed that the tribute foresees the premiere of 67 national productions, including films, documentaries, and animation, and the screening of 40 other films, 22 of which have been restored.
