Farias’ request entered the Attorney General’s Office after Bolsonaro’s two-day shelter at the headquarters of the Hungarian Embassy in Brasilia.
“The stay at the embassy suggests that the former president was trying to take advantage of his friendship with a fellow far-right leader, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, in an attempt to escape the Brazilian justice system, while facing criminal investigations in Brazil,” the parliamentarian indicates in his criminal representation.
He warns that the stay of the far-right politician in the Hungarian Embassy, “suggests a clear attempt to pave the way for a possible escape or foreign protection, as investigations deepen and strengthen the indications and evidence capable of justifying not only precautionary measures (imprisonment), but also a future criminal conviction”.
