With more than 700 participants from eight countries, UNISOC2024 is being held at the Plaza America Convention Center in Varadero and the University of Matanzas (UM), under the slogan For a society of learning towards sustainable development. The event brings together prestigious Cuban and foreign scientists and academics, with Honduras as the guest of honor.
According to UM institutional communicator Yasnier Hinojosa, the event will feature the 16th International Workshop on Gender, Culture and Society, the 2nd International Workshop on the Anti-racial Debate Today: Racism, Prejudice and Discrimination, and the 3rd International Symposium on Heritage and Culture.
UNISOC2024 will become an ideal meeting to share experiences, promote and exhibit products, as well as the follow-up and treatment of policies such as the national program for economic and social development, he added.
Under the auspices of the UM, the event will address the management of capacities from science and innovation for local development, physical activity and human development in active and sustainable aging, learning towards sustainable tourism, the challenges of sugar production and its byproducts and the management of capacities from science.
In addition to UNISOC2024, the 2nd Varadero 2024 Business Fair will be held in Cuba’s major coastal destination to promote exchange among companies and the new economic stockholders of the province and the country.
