Ecuadorian prosecutor is accused of complicity with organized crime

Quito, Mar 25 (Prensa Latina) The revelations of former Ecuadorian Assemblyman Ronny Aleaga regarding Attorney General of the State Diana Salazar's link with organized crime are shaking the political scene of Ecuador on Monday.

Aleaga announced on his social networks that he will publish more than 1,500 chats of his conversations with the official since 2021, when he began his investigation as a lawmaker for the Ina Papers case against former President Lenín Moreno.

According to the former congressman, who represented the Citizen Revolution movement, he used the messaging application Confide to talk with the prosecutor and the chats have already been certified by a company from the United States.

In the chats, according to Aleaga, the “Seño,” as he identified Salazar, recognized that the assassins of Presidential Candidate Fernando Villavicencio were Los Lobos, but he hid the information at the request of an ambassador to prevent the Citizens Revolutin movement from winning the elections.

Apparently, they also talked on February 2, 2024, when the relationship between “La Negra” and “El Ruso” broke out, when the prosecutor asked to clarify that “La Negra” was not her, but the defendant in the Metastasis case, Mayra Salazar. jg/jav/mem/avr
