Presented during the 19th International Computer Fair 2024, held last week in Havana, the project establishes a comprehensive urban rehabilitation for local appreciation and support for innovative, organic, sustainable, community, creative and circular economies, according to the magazine specialized Technical Youth.
In this way, it aims to provide a broadband telecommunications infrastructure, based on fiber optic technology, capable of supporting the exchange of data for current and future services through the implementation of a Gigabyte Passive Optical Network, providing Triple services. Play (voice, data, IPTV) to business customers, homes and other facilities in the area.
According to the president of the Avenida Italia project, Michele Curto, this foresees the deployment of said technology from Reina Street to Malecón, including the parks that are in the area and a section of each transversal block that crosses Galiano for approximately three kilometers. .
This will benefit 109 properties, with an average of 12 clients per building, with a download and upload speed of 4Mb/1Mb, which is currently up to 300 Mb per second.
This is possible because fiber optics allow data upload and download speeds up to 20 times faster compared to other types of connection, reaching a level of efficiency comparable to that of other countries that already have this technology.
According to experts, the main objective of the Digital Highway is the creation of a space where young audiences enjoy a level of satisfaction of their creative and professional needs, to incubate and develop projects.
